He’s the leader of our group and he has so many people that are asking so many things of him and he took the time out to make sure that I was okay. Fu Mei Mathers

So when I first met Mr. Miscavige I happened to be walking by him and he reached out with this big smile and, you know, was going to shake my hand. And I shook his hand and I said, “Fu Mei Mathers” and he looked at me and he goes, “David Miscavige.”

He goes, “I know who you are,” and he walked away and it was just, you know, you think that a person that is in charge of so many people and so many aspects of an organization would not take the time to just sit down and talk to someone or even shake their hand. And for him it was just a certainty that that’s just who and how he is.

I was on a ship and he happened to also be on the ship, leading a couple of, you know, seminars and events, and I was seasick. And I was not feeling good and it was like two o’clock in the morning and I’m out in the breeze just going okay let me at least just sit here and just, you know, at least be sick up here instead of in my room.

And Mr. Miscavige noticed me and he came over and he says, “Are you okay?” and I said, “Well I’m a little seasick.” He goes, “Well, then we have to get you ginger.” And he was going to take time out of everything that he was doing to get someone to open up the kitchen so he could get me some ginger so that I could feel better.

And I was like, “No, no, no, no. It’s okay, seriously, I’m going to be fine. I just need the breeze on me.” And he goes, “Okay.” He goes, “You need some ginger to feel better. Don’t you know about ginger?” And I go, “Yes.” He goes, “Well, do you have ginger?” and I said, “No, I don’t have ginger,” and he goes, “We have to get you ginger.” And so sure enough he got me the ginger and I felt better. And I was like oh, you know, and he’s the leader of our group and he has so many people that are asking so many things of him and he took the time out to make sure that I was okay.

You know, and it’s just spectacular and kind and caring and compassionate. And that’s who Mr. Miscavige is.
